Vinnie Viola is principal and founder of Birch Island Real Estate Consulting, LLC located in Milton, MA. His company provides asset management consulting services to developers, owners and managers of affordable housing funded with tax credit equity. Offering an investor's perspective, Vinnie authors and provides web-based and private training events on a variety of asset and property management topics.
Building on 30+ years of experience, Vinnie has worked in for-profit, government, and non-profit organizations that invest in, build, manage and regulate affordable housing for low-income families. Through a combined 10 years with the asset management groups of two Boston-based national tax credit syndicators, Vinnie has deep expertise with best practices for monitoring performance of multifamily projects in all life cycle phases and managing risks inherent with LIHTC investments. He has asset managed thousands of rental units in hundreds of investment partnerships, comprising nearly $1 billion in investor contributed equity. Vinnie holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas. He currently serves as member on NAHB's Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) Board of Governors and Vice Chair of the board’s Professional Development subcommittee. Designtions
