ABOUT THIS WEBCAST
Successful owners of multifamily affordable housing appreciate well-defined asset management practices, as these contribute to a portfolio’s long-term viability and financial success, while also minimizing stakeholder risks.

In this 90-minute webcast, veteran asset manager Vinnie Viola shares his 10 key questions that multifamily owners and developers should ask in their annual portfolio business planning. Vinnie draws on 30+ years of experience working for and consulting to tax credit syndicators, non-profit and for-profit multifamily developers and owners of LIHTC rental housing, among others. The training drills down on components that contribute to a robust asset management platform. These include, for example, timely identifying debt maturities and  refinancing opportunities with equity take-outs, tracking property financial performance against meaningful benchmarks and much more. The training will center on a small multifamily portfolio with various strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to illustrate training concepts.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Vinnie Viola, MPA is Principal of Birch Island Real Estate Consulting, LLC, founded in 2013. Building on 30+ years of broad affordable housing experience, Vinnie provides consulting services and trainings to developers, investors and operators of multifamily housing financed with LIHTC equity. He has deep expertise in multifamily asset management best practices. Over his career, he has proactively asset managed thousands of multifamily rental units in hundreds of investment partnerships, comprising billions in investor contributed tax credit equity. ​Vinnie earned a BA from University of Massachusetts, Boston and an MPA from University of Texas, Dallas. He also completed a certificate in real estate finance from Boston University’s Metropolitan College. Vinnie served as Director of Asset Management with non-profit developer Madison Park Development Corporation, located in Nubian Square, Boston, MA from November 2019 to January 2023.​
